Assignment (n) Nhiệm vụ, bài tập về nhà

An assignment is a homework (usually a task or piece of work) assigned to leaners as part of autonomy.

E.g: The homework assignment was to finish all the activity on LMS within this week.

Bride (n) Cô dâu

A bride is a woman who is about to be married.

E.g: The bride looked absolutely pretty in her wedding-dress.

Ceremony & Reception

Difference between Ceremony and Reception

A reception comes after (or before) a ceremony. it is kind of like a party.

A ceremony is usually a celebration of a person or people for a certain event in that person's life.

------>>  a wedding is a ceremony.
              a wedding reception is the party after the wedding.

E.g: Most couples usually hold a ceremony in the church before the wedding reception.

 


Ceremony (n) Buổi lễ

A ceremony is a very formal celebration or public occasion. There are a lot of formal or traditional actions on that day. A ceremony is usually performed on some special occasion.

E.g: Jenny will hold a wedding ceremony in the church.

Engagement Ceremony (n) Lễ đính hôn

An Engagement Ceremony is a ceremony held before the Wedding Ceremony, it's the groom's commitment to get married.

E.g: There are many important rituals to be arranged on the engagement ceremony.


Expense (c.n or u.c) Chi phí - Expenses (plu.n)

An amount of money needed or used to do or buy something; cost.

E.g: Some parents cover most expenses of the wedding.

Groom (n) Chú rể

A groom (or a bridegroom) is a man who is about to be married.

E.g: The bride and groom walked down the aisle together happily.

Proposal Ceremony (n) Lễ dạm hỏi, hỏi cưới

A proposal ceremony is when the groom's family ask for permission to marry the bride. In particular, the groom's family will visit the bride's family to ask for permission for marriage.

E.g: One of the most traditional wedding customs in Vietnamese society is the proposal ceremony.

E.g: Most couples usually hold a ceremony in the church before the wedding reception.

 


Reception (n)

formal party to celebrate something. A wedding reception is a party usually held after the completion of a marriage ceremony as hospitality for those who have attended the wedding, hence the name reception: the couple receive society, in the form of family and friends, for the first time as a married couple.

E.g: A Wedding Reception will be held as a special thanks for those who have attended the wedding.
