1.1. Complete the chore chart!
Exercise 1. Read the text and complete the chore chart.
I live in a family of four: my parents, my younger sister, and I. We are all very busy people: both my parents work, my sister and I spend most of our time at school, so we split the household chores equally.
My dad is responsible for mending things around the house. He also cleans the bathroom twice a week. My mum does most of the cooking and grocery shopping.
Being the elder child in the family, I take up a large share of housework. I do the laundry, take out the rubbish, and clean the fridge once a week. My younger sister An’s responsibilities include helping mum to prepare meals and washing the dishes. My sister and I take turns laying the table for meals, sweeping the house, and feeding the cat.
We do our share of housework willingly as we know that if everyone contributes, the burden is less and everyone can have some time to relax.

I live in a family of four: my parents, my older brother, and I. We are very busy with our work and study: both my parents work, my brother is at university and I spend most of my time at school, so we split the household duties equally.
My dad is responsible for earning a living, guiding the children, and making final decisions. He helps my mother manage the household and is responsible for repairing work like fixing plumbing and electricity. While my dad does most of the heavy lifting, my mother takes care of the children and supervises household tasks like planning the menu, doing the shopping, and doing house cleaning with other similar tasks.
My brother helps my mother in the kitchen. He also waters the houseplants and cleans the house. My responsibilities are helping my mother with the grocery shopping and doing the washing-up after meals. I also feed my cat, LULU, three times a day.
We do share our work willingly and happily. As we know that our parents are not young anymore. We should lift the burden off their shoulder so that we can turn our home into a beautiful and happy place to live in.
